Lubbock ISD’s Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center’s Automotive Technology students brought home $22,000 in scholarships and $5000 in Snap-On Tools and a Snap-On Toolbox after competing in the Top Tech Automotive Challenge. Two Lubbock HS seniors took first place in the team rounds, each winning a $10,000 scholarship to the University Technical Institute.
Ryan Garcia and Brody Boyce won first place with 496 points in the team rounds. Both boys are seniors at Lubbock High School. A $10,000 scholarship to UTI was individually rewarded to both seniors.
Dylan Green and Levi Brints won 5th place with 439 points in the team rounds.
Dylan is a Senior at Monterey High School and Levi is a Junior at Lubbock High school. Both of the team members earned a $1000 Scholarship to UTI.
In the individual scoring, Brody Boyce took 1st place with a total point value of 268 points.
The challenge was hosted by instructors and staff at Universal Technical Institute Dallas/Irving campus. These students did an outstanding job in representing Lubbock ISD with the utmost professionalism and respect.
