Lubbock ISD had high school teams compete in the Texas Academic Decathlon and won over $2,000 in scholarships. Academic Decathlon is a team competition where students match their intellects with students from other schools. Students are tested in ten categories: Art, economics, essay, interview, language and literature, mathematics, music, science, social science, and speech.
Lubbock HS finished fourth place in the medium school division with an overall score of 43,208. The team brought home 14 individual medals and senior Leonardo de Farias finished fifth place overall in the Scholastic division, earning a $500 scholarship. Lubbock HS Fourth Place overall in the Medium School category at the Thomas E. Moseley State Finals.

- Peyton Crosby – First in Speech in the Varsity Division
- Leonardo de Farias – Third in Essay, third in Music, and fifth overall in the Scholastic Division
- McKenna Frandsen – Second in Essay in the Scholastic Division
- Archer Mora – First in Speech and third in Interview in the Varsity Division
- Kyler Shu – Third in Art, first in Economics, and second in Science in the Honors Division
- Max Zabriskie – Second in Art, first in Economics and third in Music in the Honors Division

Monterey HS brought home five individual event medals. Monterey HS Tenth Place overall in the Medium School category at the Thomas E. Moseley State Finals.
- Obsidian Beavers – First in Social Science in the Varsity Division
- Micah Hohbein – Third in Art, third in Literature, and second in Social Science in the Varsity Division
- Jason Ye – Second in Music in the Scholastic Division
- Other team members include Ava Enriquez, JaeAnna Lockeby-Landers, Annie Luft, Elizabeth Smart, Bobby Stephens, and Nova Willingham. The Monterey HS team is coached by Lacey Oliver, Jennifer Pace, and Logan Robertson
The Coronado HS team earned seven individual event medals and two students earned places as top scorers for the meet. Junior Zachary Wilkinson placed third overall in the Scholastic division (earning a $1000 TAD scholarship) and junior Logan Jack placed Fourth overall (earning a $750 scholarship). Coronado HS Tenth Place overall in the Medium school category at the Frisco State Finals.

- Zackary Wilkinson – Second in Music, second in Social Science, and third overall in the Scholastic Division.
