Eight students from the band and choir programs of Lubbock Independent School District (ISD) have received all-state honors from the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA). This recognition is the highest level of musical achievement in Texas’s band and choir programs. We want to congratulate these students on their remarkable skills, dedication, and hard work, as well as their directors for their support, teaching, and encouragement. These students will perform at the TMEA convention in San Antonio in February. The commended band students are Addison Shaw from Coronado HS, Nathaniel De Ungria and John McWilliams from Monterey HS, Justice Gonzalez from Estacado HS, and Mason Taylor from Lubbock HS. Landry Escobedo, Amara Bryant, and Jordan King from Coronado HS were honored for choir. We applaud all of these high school students for their commitment to practicing and performing at such a high level.
