Last Wednesday was the first day back for students and the Byron Martin ATC created a cross-curriculum day to help students and teachers get out of their comfort zones and collaborate. Inspired by a pair of ATC instructors’ previous lessons, program instructors from all over the building paired up and created lessons that mixed content areas so students could overlap skillsets while learning about different topics.
Activities like finding the connection between the human body and parts of technology allowed both Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics students and Health Science students the opportunity to connect while broadening their understanding of their previous learning. Students were able to engage with each other while learning new important base skills that can be applied in everyday life. From every discipline available at the ATC, students were able to dip their toes into the real world while overlapping industries.
